Drones guarding Port of Antwerp

DroneDrones are used for surveillance the Port of Antwerp. The Belgian Minister of Defense, Steven Vandeput, called the flying cameras an efficient alternative to patrolling soldiers.

“Instead of placing 140 people on the street, we go about it in an intelligent way by using drones,” the minister said in the TV program The seventh day. He added that the deployment of troops in case of an elevated threat level, “asks to much of the millitary.”

A spokesman for Vandeput added that drones can cover a large area and can create detailed images.
